Mychal Simka Guest Lecture

On March 5th, JPCatholic hosted guest speaker Mychal Simka who spoke to the students about his career in the entertainment industry, the opportunities facing Christian filmmakers today, and the story behind his non-profit organization "Heart for Hollywood."

Simka attended Thomas Aquinas College, received a BM in Music Composition from Loyola University New Orleans, followed by an MA in Screenwriting from CSUN. His 10-year career in the film industry includes casting, writing, and producing. His recent work involves adapting foreign animated films for the U.S. Market, including over a dozen films for Lionsgate. He is also currently producing a podcast called the “Catholic Talk Show” with JPCatholic alumnus Fr. Rich Pagano.
