Business Innovator Merit Fund

This merit scholarship supports students who have a passion for innovation and business creation. This fund helps us attract students who aspire to be visionaries and imagine culture impacting businesses. Students apply by submitting an essay describing a business idea. These submissions also give the students an opportunity to reflect on the higher purpose of business and its culture shaping impact. JPCatholic seeks $100k to support these students.

Through our well-rounded business programs, students become skilled entrepreneurs, marketers, and leaders with the ability to integrate the teachings of Jesus Christ into their everyday work. Students learn how to live and work ethically, not just strive for efficiency and the bottom line, creating meaningful change within themselves and the world.
Our Business LaunchPad gives students hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, with the opportunity to create a viable company guided by the mentorship of faculty.

Nate Sjogren

Nate Sjogren ‘11

Akimbo Studios

Akimbo Studios is a motion graphics design firm that has served clients such as Rocket League, Scott Hahn, and Bishop Barron’s Word on Fire. After a decade of experience in broadcast design for projects like the FIFA World Cup, Nate used the entrepreneurial skills he learned at JPCatholic to found his own design studio with both a secular and Catholic branch. He now teaches at JPCatholic and hires newer alumni for his company.

Dana Huffman

Dana Huffman ‘17

Jadies and Grace

Jadies and Grace creates fashion dolls for girls featuring women of the Bible. During her junior year at JPCatholic, Dana found an unfilled need in the marketplace for Christian play fashion dolls, and through our Business LaunchPad started this company to help young girls know how much they’re loved by God, while learning about the Bible and having fun.

Matt Salisbury ‘11

Pesch

Pesch is a D.C. based P.R. firm specializing in support for mission-driven brands. Founded by Matt Salisbury, the firm assists conservative organizations with digital strategy, media relations, and creative production, securing placements in the WSJ, Washington Post, USA Today, Good Morning America, EWTN News Nightly, FOX Business, and more.
