“Across the Finish Line” Campaign Exceeds Funding Goal
July 7, 2025
John Paul the Great Catholic University is proud to announce the successful completion of its “Across the Finish Line” campaign, which has surpassed its $750,000 fundraising goal for the furnishing and equipment phase of the new Creative Arts Complex. The campaign is currently at 103% raised.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the university’s ongoing efforts to expand its facilities for student filmmakers, actors, and artists. The funding will equip the upcoming Creative Arts Complex with state-of-the-art technology, including editing suites, sound stages, and production spaces essential to JPCatholic’s hands-on, industry-focused education.
“We are deeply grateful to our generous donors whose support is helping bring this long-anticipated vision to life,” said Dr. Derry Connolly, President of JPCatholic. “This facility will empower our students to pursue creative excellence while forming their talents in service of truth, beauty, and goodness.”
The complex is located at 131 S Broadway in Escondido, a property previously occupied by Johnson Furniture and Sears Roebuck. The 30,620 sq. ft. building sits on 1.3-acres and will more than double the university’s academic space. The structure has been divided into two separate buildings which will house Cinematic Arts and Visual Arts in one and Performing Arts in the other. A new courtyard connecting the two will serve as a venue for community events, outdoor performances, and student life activities.
Renovations began in 2024 and are expected to be completed by the end of 2025. To learn more about the campaign and ongoing giving opportunities, please click here.
