Orientation 2025

October 1, 2025

Last weekend, JPCatholic welcomed 110 new freshmen and transfer students to campus to begin their studies. Combined with students who began in Winter, Spring, and Summer, 128 new students joined the University this year, the largest cohort since the record-breaking 135 in 2021.

Half of the newly arrived students come from within California, with the remainder from 30 additional states, plus Mexico and Canada. Commuter students represent approximately 24% of the new students. The residential students are the first to experience JPCatholic’s new student housing at the Marlowe Palomar Heights complex, a modern apartment community providing upscale amenities, contemporary design, and enhanced access to the vibrant shops and restaurants in downtown Escondido.

“I give thanks to God for welcoming this new cohort of students as they embark on their journey of formation in preparation to Impact Culture for Christ,” said President Derry Connolly. “Our 2025 cohort reflects the continued vitality of JPCatholic’s mission, demonstrating the strength of our academic programs and the vibrancy of our campus community.”
