Statement on Fr. Timone
December 20, 2018
The New York Times posted an article detailing sexual abuse allegations against Fr. Donald Timone, which was painful and shocking to all of us in the JPCatholic community.
Fr. Timone, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of New York, has intermittently been a part of our community since 2006. Until today, John Paul the Great Catholic University had a letter of good standing from the Archdiocese and no knowledge that there were any allegations against him. Today, the Archdiocese suspended Fr. Timone from all priestly duties pending an independent external review.
Effective today, Fr. Timone will no longer be serving at JPCatholic.
Please pray for all those gravely affected by the horrors of sexual abuse inside and outside the Church.
