WSCUC Reaffirms JPCatholic’s Accreditation for Eight Years

July 13, 2021

On July 12th, 2021 John Paul the Great Catholic University received formal notification from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) that JPCatholic’s accreditation is reaffirmed for a period of eight years. The next reaffirmation review will be held in 2028-2029.

JPCatholic received initial accreditation from WASC in March of 2015 for a period of five years. The reaffirmation visit was originally scheduled for April 2020, but was postponed to March 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WASC’s periods of reaffirmation range from six to ten years.

“This very successful WSCUC reaffirmation of our accreditation for 8-years is a strong testimony to the institutional rigor and discipline built by JPCatholic faculty and administrative staff since our initial accreditation in 2015,” said President Derry Connolly. “I praise God for the dedication and unwavering commitment of all within our JPCatholic community.”

The Commission’s commendations for JPCatholic include how the University responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, its faculty governance culture, and the practical learning experiences it provides to students for acquiring professional skills.
