“This was my 10 week Environement Design 2 project. All of the architectural assets I made and UV unwrapped in Maya, and then sculpted and UV unwrapped the rock boulders and pathways in Blender. All texturing was done using Substance Painter and Designer. Then I made the foliage using Maya's brush tool and created a master foliage material in UE5 to adjust the settings of the foliage as needed. Lastly, I brought everything into Unreal Engine 5 to build and light the scene. Jonathan Lucero's piece titled ‘ultrasound’ was my reference and please check it out here”. Since, the assignment had to do with the theme of “abandoned” I decided to make some changes with the original piece by breaking up the stone rings and adding in more foliage overgrowth to strenghthen that theming. This project was quite the learning experience, but I'm happy with how it turned out in the end.
