Self-reliant, 87 year-old Josie lives with her granddaughter, Maxine. A sudden fall forces Josie to confront the changes that come with old age, including how it affects her closest relationships. As Josie transitions from caregiver to the one being cared for, she begins to question whether she is a handicap in her granddaughter's life. This short story explores inter-generational relationships, the role of memories in later life, and the challenge of learning how to be loved.
