Where Jellyfish Come From

This piece was inspired by a short story from “Bee and Puppycat” Episode 8, which made me cry the first three times I watched it and still gets me sometimes. The three images are each from a stage in the story, in which an octopus falls in love with a lost princess' hair. When he brings her home across the ocean, she cuts off her hair and gives it to him, but when the ribbon comes un-done, he tears himself to pieces trying to hold onto each strand. The octopus and the princess' hair become the first jellyfish.
