JPCatholic's Humanities department is excited to host a book reading and Q&A with Tod Goldberg, an American author and journalist best known for the Gangsterland novel series. Tod will be reading from his newest novel Gangster’s Don’t Die, which represents the end of a series 14 years in the making. Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore will also be on site for book sales.

Presented by John Paul the Great Catholic University, Divine Spark is a reading series that allows students and community members to engage with artists who are living their artistic vocations—and be inspired to do the same.

“Those who perceive in themselves this kind of divine spark which is the artistic vocation—as poet, writer, sculptor, architect, musician, actor and so on—feel at the same time the obligation not to waste this talent but to develop it, in order to put it at the service of their neighbor and of humanity as a whole.” - John Paul II, Letter to Artists
