We are excited that you are looking to join JPCatholic, and we hope to put together an institutional aid package which meets your financial needs.
Institutional aid at JPCatholic is typically awarded to students in a single award on the basis of a combination of merit and financial need. Thanks to our generous benefactors, 99% of our students receive institutional financial aid, and we look forward to guiding you through the process.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is an application for federal student aid. You need to complete the FAFSA form if you want to apply for federal student aid such as federal grants, work-study funds, and loans. In addition, many colleges including JPCatholic can use your FAFSA information to evaluate financial need and determine your institutional aid package.
Make sure you add John Paul the Great Catholic University as a recipient; our school code is 041937.
If your family has had a recent change in financial circumstances or has unusual costs due to medical or other expenses, and you want us to consider these with your application, please submit a signed and dated statement with the applicable information directly to JPCatholic. In some cases, additional documentation may be requested to clarify financial circumstances.

This JPCatholic form can serve as a “FAFSA Alternative” - it asks for very similar data as the FAFSA, but allows you to submit this financial information directly to JPCatholic. We invite you to submit this form if:
Please note that this form does not qualify you for any federal grants or loans, and you should also submit the FAFSA if you wish to assess your eligibility for those.

The merit component of your financial aid package will be determined by the Financial Aid Committee’s review of your transcripts, test scores, and essay questionnaire. You may, however, provide additional merit items for consideration, including a resume, creative work, or letters of recommendation.
Below is a breakdown of the supplementary items you may provide. You may submit up to two categories of items. Please note that sending supplementary items is optional, and not a requirement for receiving merit-based aid.
Supplementary items should be submitted by using this upload link.
Submit Optional Merit ItemsIf you wish to have your institutional scholarship reviewed on the basis of merit only, please complete this form.
Please note, however, that students who are not eligible for grant aid through the FAFSA application may still be eligible for need-based institutional aid. Even if you know that you will not qualify for grant aid from the FAFSA, we still encourage you to explore the possibility of JPCatholic’s institutional need-based aid by submitting the FAFSA or our alternative Need-Aware Financial Aid Form.
JPCatholic normally begins reviewing scholarship applications on a rolling basis starting around the middle of November. Applications are usually reviewed within 1-2 weeks of completion of all required documents.
Students are asked to complete their application no later than April 15, or within 30 days of their acceptance. After a scholarship application is reviewed, the student will be sent an award letter via email and postal mail. The student must sign one copy of the letter and return it to the Financial Aid Office to accept the award.
A representative will be happy to answer your questions and discuss your individual situation.
