Business: Open Emphasis
JPCatholic’s Open Emphasis in Business provides a framework for you to customize your business education to your unique goals. With close mentorship from faculty and flexible course options, JPCatholic empowers you to shape a Business degree that aligns with your aspirations. Whether you’re exploring multiple interests or forging a new direction, this pathway helps you build a future that’s unique to you.
If you are interested in pursuing our Business degree without choosing a specific emphasis, you will have the option to indicate so on your enrollment agreement.
“Create Your Future” pathway
Open Emphasis students who meet certain requirements may also start participating in the “Create Your Future” pathway once they have reached 75 credits. This special program allows ambitious and academically strong students to craft their own business emphasis. Working closely with the department chair, students will generate a plan to tailor their education to their professional aspirations. This can even include independent studies on topics not currently covered by course offerings.

Program Requirements:
- Must have successfully completed at least 75 credits
- Must not have ever earned a ‘C-’, ‘D’, or ‘F’ in any coursework
- Must have and maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA
- Must have a clear and comprehensive vision for their education
