Professor of Theology and the Arts; Chair of Theology and Humanities
JPCatholic is seeking applications for a full-time Professor of Theology and the Arts, who will also serve as the Chair of our Theology and Humanities programs.
The ideal candidate will:
- Deeply understand the transforming impact the Arts have on our culture and the critical task of tightly integrating Catholic Theology and Philosophy with the Arts at a curricular and co-curricular level.
- Have the vision to guide and expand our Humanities academic program and attract extraordinary faculty to form students ready to impact culture for Christ.
- Have a passion for teaching and the formation of students. You will teach courses within our existing degree programs.
- Have a breath of understanding for the design of Theology curriculum that is relevant to the formation of artists and business innovators - appreciating that ‘great art comes from the heart’.
The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic, with dual graduate degrees in Theology (MA, PhD preferred) and in the Arts (MFA or MBA).
As Chair, you will possess the ability to build a high degree of collaboration across the faculty and administration. Your ability to lead collaborative conversations and forge consensus is critical. You will leverage your passion, creativity and insights to forge a strong culture of integration on campus; and you will encourage and mentor creative students interested in pursuing a professional career.
We expect to fill this position no later than Fall 2018.
