Academic and Career Partnerships
At JPCatholic, we believe in preparing students not only for academic excellence, but also for meaningful careers and lifelong learning. Through our Professional Connections Office and faculty mentorship, students receive support in a wide variety of ways as they prepare for life after graduation. Among these resources are the formal partnerships outlined below, which provide unique opportunities for internships, employment, and advanced graduate study. These collaborations open doors to real-world experience, professional networks, and continuing education, helping our graduates thrive in their vocations.

Akimbo Studio: First-Look on Internships and Employment
JPCatholic is pleased to have a formal partnership with Akimbo Studio, a motion design studio founded by alumnus Nate Sjogren ‘11. Based in Boise, ID, the studio has created motion graphics for clients such as Rocket League, TikTok, Vans, Ascension Press, Scott Hahn, The Bible Project, and Word on Fire. Sjogren also teaches motion design at JPCatholic, and over the years has used his classroom as a recruiting ground for talented students to work for his company. The partnership formalizes the relationship, offering JPCatholic students first opportunity to apply for new internships and job openings.

Yellow Line Digital: First-Look on Internships and Employment
JPCatholic is pleased to have a formal partnership with Yellow Line Digital, a full service digital agency that has provided video and social media marketing solutions to over 100 businesses and nonprofits, including five Archdiocese and a Vatican organization. Since its founding in 2012 as a LaunchPad project by faculty and alumni, the company has had a close relationship with the University, and roughly two-thirds of all employees have been JPCatholic students or alumni. The partnership gives JPCatholic students first opportunity for internship openings, as well as employment opportunities.

Kelp Journal and Books: First-Look on Internships
JPCatholic is pleased to have a formal partnership with Kelp Journal and Books, a premier digital and print literary magazine. Kelp has ongoing open submissions for fiction, non-fiction, and poetry manuscripts, and publishes twice a year. Located on California's West Coast, they are especially interested in stories pertaining to oceanic and conservationist themes. This partnership gives JPCatholic students first opportunity for internship openings.

Christendom College: Master of Education Credits
This agreement with Christendom Center for Educational Philosophy and Leadership (CEPL), effective through September 5, 2028, is aimed at expanding opportunities for Catholic educators and leaders to pursue graduate study while strengthening schools and dioceses across the nation. JPCatholic graduates will be able to transfer up to 9 credit hours directly into CEPL’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) program, creating a seamless pathway from undergraduate to graduate study.

University of Dallas: Graduate Programs Scholarship
This agreement, effective through June 1, 2029, provides qualified graduates of JPCatholic with a 20% scholarship, known as the Newman School Scholarship, upon admission to one of UDallas’ graduate programs. This partnership aims to support the academic and professional development of students who share a commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition.
JPCatholic graduates may apply the scholarship to programs in both the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts and the UDallas College of Business.
